Bundle one of the project, HHK-1, was registered in Nov 2011 and is currently under Verification for the period of September 01, 2011 to August 31, 2012. Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) of HHK-1 are expected to be issued early next fiscal year. 6 out of the total 8 kilns are in operation. Of the two kilns not in operation, one kiln was dropped and the other one is temperately closed for technical maintenance. Bundle two of the project, HHK-2, was registered in July 2012, and is expected to be in operation shortly. In HHK-2 there are in total 6 kilns. 3 have been constructed awaiting for electricity supply to start operation; the other 3 are at advanced stage of construction and expected to start operation by September 2013. During the past year or so, the Bank team has been helping the project entity - IIDFCL to improve its monitoring capacity through training and consultancy of technical support. In the last supervision mission in Feb-Mar of 2013, the mission team noted that IIDFCL and kiln owners have been highly supportive of the efforts to strengthen project monitoring. IIDFCL Public Disclosure Copy and kiln owners highly appreciated the Bank's effort of providing consultant support to strengthen monitoring systems and expressed their satisfaction with the verification process and overall Bank support. Kiln owners also noted that stronger CDM monitoring has strengthened their own business performance through improved control of costly material inputs (diesel, clay and coal) as well as better management of brick production and sales receipts.
