As a result, the objectives to expand the coverage and improve quality of social care services for persons with disabilities and vulnerable children by strengthening and scaling up government service delivery systems have been achieved. The number of individuals served by DSCs and ICPSCs has rapidly increased particularly during the recent two years and greatly passed the end targets. In addition, in the last six months or so, by introducing mobile services for people with disabilities, the coverage and use of disability services greatly improved. Key results from the disability component include: 1. Over a hundred DSCs are fully functional and providing services to persons with disabilities in every district in the country. 2. The total number of beneficiaries exceeded 370,000 (with about 43% females) as of April 30, 2016. 3. About a quarter of total registered clients have benefitted from mobile services since the launch in December 2015. 4. Close to 95 percent of beneficiaries are satisfied with the services provided The results from the children-at-risk component include: 5. Eleven ICPSCs (each includes separate facilities for boys and girls) are fully functional and providing services to vulnerable children (e.g., street children; those who have left their families; etc.). 6. As of May2016, the total number of children served exceeded 6,000 (about 51% female). 7. About 70 percent of the children are re-integrated with their families after spending up to 6 months with their peers and participating in educational programs in the centers. Base on these achievements, MoSW confirmed that the “Protibondhi Sheba O Shahajjo Kendro” program under JPUF and the “Sheikh Russell Training & Rehabilitation Service Centers” program under DSS have been allocated financing by the Finance Division to continue the activities and operation under the Project. The continued financing from Government resources serves as an indication of its commitment to ensuring high quality social care services towards these marginalized groups and attests to the Project’s relevance towards its intended developmental objective and broader human development goals in the country.
