There has been substantial movement in the Kabwe component and all the infrastructure contracts have been signed.Two rounds of technical training to health staff have been completed and the medicines and leadcare equipment have been procured. The health interventions (testing and treatment) will commence early 2020. Activities under ZEMA and MSD PIUs are progressing satisfactorily manner and all large contracts have been commissioned. The large study for the Conservation of Lukanga Swamp is now ongoing under ZEMA and RPA has commenced the activity of identification of radioactive hotspots. The Livelihoods activity is progressing and 12 proposals have been recommended for funding.The Grievance Redressal Mechanism is now fully operational, and complaints are being logged and addressed by the GRM focal points at the municipalities. Project Steering Committee has been meeting regularly and continues to provide strategic project oversight and guidance. The communications activity is ongoing actively on social media and at public events.
