Now the Water Board in Maharashtra - Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP) is made responsible to prepare the investments. A workshop is planned in January. A delay of about an year is expected on this DLI. Current action plan agreed is first batch Detailed Project Reports (DPRs)-Mar 2016; bidding & award - Aug 2016; Implementation : 12-18 months thereafter. A Bank's Trust Funded activity to analyze peri-urban context and identify typical solutions based on national and international experiences is about to start, as the consultancy is on the verge of award. A parallel activity on peri-urban water supply and sanitation led by Water GP's GSG is also underway, from which Maharashtra Program can draw some lessons.
