Total project disbursements stand at US$2.67 million out of a total Grant amount of US$15 million. Slight progress was seen following the first quarterly payment under Component 1 - the Cash Transfer Support Program – which was made in May 2019, hence resulting in a slight increase in the disbursement ratio (from 17.5% to 17.8%). Due to the PA fiscal crisis, both the EU and the Bank doubled their contributions so as to reach out to all the registered poor households. The same arrangement will apply for the August 2019 payment. Some progress is also noted under Component 2 -Social Registry which the completion of various procurement requirements as well as the ongoing review of the social registry application forms capturing the Case Management System (CMS). Similarly, under Component 3 (Case Management System), the recent recruitment of the CMS Field Coordinator is 8/12/2019 Page 1 of 6 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Social Protection Enhancement Project (P160674) expected to assist in accelerating project implementation. Some of the key activities under this component have also been initiated in line with the accelerated implementation plan. Under Component 4 (Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation), slight progress is noted with the appointment of an Acting Project Director following the resignation of the newly appointed Project Director in May 2019. The last implemented support mission noted that until substantial progress and notable results are achieved under the project, overall Implementation Progress (IP) and Progress towards achievement of the PDO ratings will remain Moderately Unsatisfactory (MU). These ratings will be revisited during the Mid Term Review mission planned for end of 2019. The World Bank also notes the continued commitment of the MoSD to expedite project implementation and ensure achievement of the project’s development objectives.
