This assessment is based on a desk review as of September 30, 2019. PICAR AF (totaling around US$60 million equivalent) is focusing on a total of 1223 communities and 106 municipalities in five departments (Chuquisaca, Cochabamba, Oruro, La Paz and Potosi). To date, the total number of subprojects executed, under implementation or identified amounts to 2,107 (880 under the original credit and 1,227 under the AF). The total number of beneficiary families of subprojects that received funding under PICAR and PICAR AF has reached 42,427. The closing date of PICAR has been extended to April 30, 2020. To better ensure the sustainability of the subproject investments in the post-project period, EMPODERAR is implementing an action plan to enhance technical assistance and accompanying support to beneficiary communities in the productive, operation and maintenance phases of the subprojects.
