There has been progress towards the achievement of results. In particular, the number of children enrolled in public and private KG2 has increased to 101,768 children; and the MOE is assessing different instruments for public-private partnerships to expand access to quality KG services to all children. The council of Ministers has also endorsed the new career path for teachers, which combined with the newly adopted national teacher professional standards (NTPS) would professionalize and strengthen the teaching profession. The Ministry of Education has also completed the deployment of the Geographical Information System (GIS), which is now generating reports and supporting in the optimization of schools’ distribution and consolidation of small schools. Finally, the Ministry of Education has formed an assessment committee which will be looking at reforming the national assessment system and the Tawjihi examination to better monitor student learning and improve students' transition from secondary school to tertiary education.
