AFAAS has also improved its CF support by utilizing different kinds of funding instruments that are part of the sub-grant financing window. Information and knowledge sharing between the Secretariat and CF, as well as among the broad Agricultural Extension and Advisory Services (AEAS) stakeholders, continues to improve. The use of the enhanced Virtual Platform has expanded. AFAAS also continues to strengthen and expand its linkages and partnerships with organizations that are relevant to its mandate. Preparation to hold the next Africa-Wide Extension Week that brings together AEAS stakeholders in Durban, South Africa is underway. The main theme will be scaling up Climate Smart Agriculture: Integrating Youth, Women and the Digital Revolution. Moreover, AFAAS has engaged its stakeholders in a substantive way in the formulation of a strategic plan for the next ten years (2018-2027). A proposed 6-month extension of the MDTF Grant was discussed during the mission and tentatively agreed, however this is pending final donor agreement to extend the MDTF end disbursement date.
