Activities undertaken during the reporting period included a range of technical assistance and capacity development for the local staff of forest management units (KPH in Bahasa Indonesia) and other agencies, covering among others, trainings/workshops on preparation for administrative requirement to propose for the regional public service agency (BLUD), dissemination of regulations related to KPH roles and responsibilities, boundary demarcation process, methodology and map accuracy assessment, conflict mediation/resolution strategy, roles of KPH in supporting the implementation of social forestry, land tenure reform (TORA) and replanting 12/23/2019 Page 1 of 7 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report PROMOTING SUSTAINABLE CBNRM AND INSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT (P144269) program. Comparative study on forest management was also conducted between KPH and the Perhutani (a state-owned company on forestry in Central Java). Community development activities are progressing. To-date, activities have been focusing on selection of community proposals, strengthening community business institutions, development of community-based business plan, capacity development on marketing/promotion strategy. The Knowledge Management and Information System (KMIS) development is completed. The KMIS was launched in July 2019, by the Secretary General of MoEF during the National Coordination Meeting of FMU, held in Yogyakarta on July 24-26, 2019. Monitoring and evaluation still needs further strengthening. The establishment of Supporting Units and Consultative Committee at the provincial level is completed in 10 pilot FMUs and is fully operational supporting the implementation of activities at site level.
