Disbursement has accelerated and stands at 22%. In line with recommendations from the previous implementation support mission, the PIU has been restructured --the Project Coordinator and the Coordinator for assistance activities (Component B) have both left. The M&E Specialist is doing a competent job as interim Project Coordinator, while the Ministry of Social Affairs has seconded one of its directors to replace the Coordinator for assistance activities. Communication between the PIU and various stakeholders, including the Bank, has become more fluid. Results concerning prevention include: 29 neighborhood Child Protection Committees have been trained and supported; 848 children at risk have been enrolled in primary school free of charge, 19 radio programs have been broadcasted and 40 street theater performances have taken place. Results concerning assistance Page 1 of 6 The World Bank Report No: ISR9287 include: 2,029 street children have received psychosocial support (against a target of 3500); at least 927 have been enrolled in formal education (including vocational training), 1,172 children have received medical care and 1,977 have been offered shelter, and 158 street children have been reunified with their families/communities.
