The key procurement activity under the project, hiring of the EPC contractor for the repowering work of Unit 4, is moving well with the issuance of Notification of Award (NOA) to the winning bidder already. The evaluation of the bids, which was carried out by an independent procurement panel, was completed much before the Board approval which showed a strong client commitment. The implementing agency now needs to expedite its process of hiring the Owner's Engineer (OE) so that the OE can be on board prior to the mobilization of resources by the EPC contractor.
