In the Philippines, following a deep contraction in 2020, the economy rebounded in 2021 supported by strong manufacturing and public investment. Economic policies have been supportive of the recovery, but policy space is narrowing. Poverty has likely improved between 2020 and 2021, but remains above pre-pandemic levels.
