China - Tianhuangping Hydroelectric Project : resettlement action plan (English)

The Tianhuangping Hydroelectric Project Resettlement Plan aims to set out an Action Plan for the resettlement and rehabilitation of the Project Affected Persons (PAPs) to ensure that they will benefit from the project and their standards of living will improve or at least be restored after the project impact. To achieve these objectives the plan provides for rehabilitation measures so that the income earning potential of individuals are restored to sustain their livelihoods. Affected productive resources of business and public property, infrastructure, and cultural property will at least be restored to their pre-project levels. The plan covers the production restoration plans for the two areas where substations will be constructed - Sijing and Hangdong. Land acquisition for Sijing Substation will cover 140 mu paddy field owned by agricultural collective and will impact Xiaochang Group and Zhaojia Group of Xiaochang Administrative Village. Land acquisition for Hangdong substation will cover 146.1 mu paddy field and will impact the second farm of Xinye Group and the Hexing Group of Hongqi Village in Xuxiang Township in Haining City. Compensations will take the form of land compensation, compensation of standing crops, compensation of farming facilities, compensation for endowment, conversion of rural residence status into non-rural status, or laid off insurance.
