The Efficient Lighting and Appliances Project provides as its objectives: to promote the use of efficient energy production, and to reduce consumption without compromising quality of services. Energy efficiency is aimed to reduce spending on inputs of energy, to increase the competitiveness of the production, reduce gas emissions of greenhouse gases and conserve energy resources of Mexico. These objectives have two specific lines of action: 1) Design, in conjunction with the development banks and commercial options funding to promote the implementation of systems and devices of high energy efficiency, considering their contribution to mitigate the effects of change on climate. 2) Increase funding to the residential sector for replacement of lamps, refrigerators, air conditioning and heat, and sources of high efficiency energy supply.
