The overall project objective of the Forest Conservation and Sustainability in the Heart of the Colombian Amazon Project is to improve governance and promote sustainable management in landscapes to reduce deforestation and conserve biodiversity in the Colombian Amazonia forests. Under the type, location, scale, sensitivity and magnitude of risks and possible environmental impacts on rural and indigenous populations, or in areas of ecological importance-including forests, water bodies and other natural habitats the project was classified in category B. This means that the potential environmental and social impacts are not significant. In turn, impacts are specific and neither is irreversible.
