The development objective of the Poverty Alleviation and Agriculture Development Demonstration in Poor Areas Project for China is to develop and demonstrate rural pillar industry development models for representative destitute areas that enhance sustainable agricultural production systems, improve organizational arrangements, and increase rural income. Some of the negative impacts and mitigation measures include: (1) guaranteeing equal participation of various nationalities in order to ensure that various nationalities can equally obtain project information and project funds; (2) making complaint procedure easy to operate and notifying ethnic minority villagers through available channels so that the work procedure shall be easy to contact and operate; and (3) strengthening training and education for ethnic minorities, and enhancing comprehensive quality of ethnic minorities.
