The objective of the Caribbean Regional Communications Program Project of Nicaragua for Caribbean Regional Communications Program (CARCIP) is to increase access to regional bandwidth networks and advance in the development of IT and IT-enabled services (ITES) inNicaragua and in the Caribbean region. Negative impacts of the project include: 1. The growth of the population of the use of telephones and Internet: more people, more energy consumption. 2. Increased influence of external cultural elements. 3. Poor use of ICT increases family spending.
