Nepal is highly vulnerable to natural hazards, including earthquakes. In April and May 2015, two high magnitude earthquakes rocked the Kathmandu Valley, claiming nearly 8,800 lives. Following the initial April 25 earthquake, teams from GFDRR quickly mobilized to help with recovery efforts alongside partners.
