This is analytical note 6 supporting the International Finance Corporation's jobs report in 2012. Enterprise surveys data for more than 45,000 firms in 106 countries show that firms in the services sector have increased their share of total employment by 1.4 percentage points (pps) in recent years, while firms in manufacturing decreased their share (by a corresponding -1.4 pps).
