Ten Treasures of Tajikistan (English)

Tajikistan has an extraordinary natural landscape. Jagged peaks rise up above steep valleys carved by glacier and snow fed rivers and are punctuated by natural springs. Wherever you travel, the mountainous backdrop is always there, as wild as it is beautiful. Tajikistan is Mother Nature’s adventure playground. But for every natural wonder that Tajikistan offers, there is a manmadeone as well. The area covering current Tajikistan has been at the crossroads of civilizations and as part of the Silk Road has had great strategic importance over time. In this region, wealthy cities have flourished throughout history and impressive fortresses have guarded local people from attacks. Many of the jewels of the ancient and medieval worlds have survived here. Two of them have been recognized by UNESCO on account of their significance to world heritage. They all enthrall visitors with their rich history.
