China - Second Shaanxi Provincial Highway Project - environmental assessment (Vol. 14) : Environmental impact report on Jianzhang-Famensi class two auto-only highway (English)

The Shaanxi Highway Project covers the construction of three major highways in the Shaanxi Province and they are: 1) the Weinan-Tongguan Highway, the first-class highway from Tongchuan to Huangling; 2) the semi-radial highway from Yao county to Tongchuan, the second-class accommodation highway from Xiaozhang Yuan to Lantian; and 3) three second-call accommodation highways (from Jiangzhang to Famen Temple, from Jiangzhang to the West Tangyu and from Jing Jia to Qin Terra cotta Museum). The Environmental Assessment discusses the present environment in the area of the project by assessing current conditions in the natural environment (climate condition, topography, geology, and earthquakes, rivers and hydrology), the ecologic environment (vegetation, soil protection, wildlife, agriculture), the social environment and the living environment. In addition, the study discusses the environmental impacts of each of the three highways on water and soil, and the extent of noise and air pollution.
