The Second State Pension Reform Technical Assistance Loan (TAL) Project for Brazil will upgrade state pension management (public officials' pension system for civil servants) thereby significantly reducing unwarranted pension claims, improving financial sustainability, strengthening state and federal institutions, and building reform constituencies. The restructuring designates the minister of social security as the Borrower's representative for disbursement purposes under Section 2.02. of article ii of the loan agreement. This change is based on a request received from PGFN (Procuradoria-Geral da Fazenda Nacional) to facilitate project disbursements. The minister of finance will continue as the Borrower's representative under the loan.
