The objectives of the National Urban Water Sector Reform Project for Nigeria are to improve reliability and financial viability of selected urban water utilities, and to increase access to piped water networks in selected urban areas. Currently, SDR 71.3 million or over 87 percent of the credit have been disbursed. The project objectives continue to be achievable. The performance of the borrower and other project implementing agencies is satisfactory. The borrower has prepared a specific action plan acceptable to the Bank to complete the project. There are no outstanding financial audit reports. The extension is necessary to align the closing date of the recently approved additional financing with this the parent project. This will be the first extension of the project.
