In regard to Vietnam, this paper focuses specifically on obstacles facing the stock market and public share issues. The contents include: limited quantity and quality of the shares listed; small scale and low level of transparency among Vietnamese enterprises; government's policy and related legal framework; lack of active participation by institutional investors; the informal stock market.
