The main objective of the Second Health Chongqing Urban-Rural Integration Project is to improve medical service system of the district/county level of Chongqing. Negative impacts include: sound environment affected, air pollution, water pollution, soil erosion, solid wastage, and medical wastage. Mitigation measures include: 1) to alleviate the noise nuisance during construction, construction noise should be controlled as much as possible; 2) measures of watering site will be strictly implemented throughout the construction period to reduce dust impact to a minimum; 3) waste bins should be put at construction site and should spray lime or disinfectant in spring and summer time; 4) the water storage containers should be cleaned and disinfected every day; 5) the construction contractor should prepare all kinds of emergency medicine and strictly control the supply channel, periodically check the inventory to prevent the use of counterfeit and expired drugs; 6) the transportation program should be prepared in line with the principle of minimizing the traffic impact; and 7) as many as possible entrances for the construction vehicle should be set to connect to the urban roads system.
