Private activity in telecommunications twenty percent down in 2011 (English)

In 2011, ten new telecom projects with private participation reached financial or contractual closure. Five projects closed in South Sudan, the world's newest nation as of July 9, 2011. The other projects were implemented in Ukraine, Brazil, Costa Rica (2), and Malawi. New investments for these ten projects totaled US$2.8 billion.
