Vietnam : advancing rural development - from vision to action (English)

This study reviews the advancing rural development in Vietnam. The country experienced a dramatic progress since 1988, due mostly to the economic transition which began in the 1980s. The economy, measured by GDP, grew from 8 to 10 percent annually, as well as industry by 12 to 14 percent.
