Argentina - Norte Grande Transport Infrastructure Development Project : resettlement policy framework : Marco de politica de reasentamiento involuntario (Spanish)

The objective of the Norte Grande Transport Infrastructure Development Project for Argentina is to contribute to economic development, integration and competitiveness of the Norte Grande region through (i) improving the reliability of the essential roads in the provinces of the North, to facilitate access to production for the provincial markets and reduce transport costs for road users and (ii) improving the efficiency of asset management of the provincial road. Potential negative impacts of the project include taking of land resulting in: (i) relocation or loss of shelter; (ii) loss of assets or access to assets; or (iii) loss of income sources or means of livelihood, whether or not the affected persons must move to another location; or (iv) the involuntary restriction of access to legally designated parks and protected areas resulting in adverse impacts on the livelihoods of the displaced persons. Therefore Resettlement Plans (RPs) and a Resettlement Policy Framework (RPF) will be finalized and disclosed in compliance with the Bank's safeguards policies by appraisal.
