Trends in developing economies : extracts (Vol. 3) : Sub-Saharan Africa (English)

This publication consists of regional extracts from "Trends in developing economies" (TIDE). The first volume presents brief analytical descriptions and data on recent economic performance and trends in 23 historically planned economies of Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Volume two deals with emerging capital markets, while volume three concentrates on 41 economies of Sub-Saharan Africa. The texts, tables and graphs are derived from the main TIDE book, which includes 119 developing economies. TIDE draws on information from national sources and adds commentary on recent economic developments. The text is concerned mainly with current events and the recent past of each economy. For each economy the descriptive text is followed by tables of socio-economic indicators and graphs. The tables provide information on key ratios, GDP accounts, social conditions, and international transactions. These volumes are designed as a ready reference for the economic analyst, investor, researcher, or business person who wants a brief and up-to-date description of recent socio-economic trends in a particular region.
