Teach early childhood education (ECE) is a free, open-source classroom observation tool that aims to measure the quality of teacher-child interactions in ECE. The development of this tool is deeply motivated by an opportunity to help countries improve the type of support they are able to give ECE teachers. In most countries, the ECE workforce tends to be the least trained and least professionalized workforce in the education system, and through providing a common framework to understand and discuss teaching quality, classroom observation in ECE can contribute to the dialogue on the importance of supporting, and ultimately further professionalizing, the ECE workforce.
