Senegal - The economy (English)

Analyzes major economic trends and policies in Senegal in the period 1960-71, and recognizes the government's achievements in maintaining budgetary equilibrium and in expanding infrastructure. Assesses public finance prospects in light of an expected fall in groundnut prices and proposes the concentration of resources of the Fourth Development Plan (1974-77) on directly productive investments in the rural sector, manufacturing and tourism to ease the unemployment problem.
