Burkina Faso - The Second Poverty Reduction Support Credit Project (English)

The Poverty Reduction Support Credit (PRSC)-(2) Project for Burkina Faso had the following ratings: the outcome was satisfactory, the sustainability was likely, the institutional development impact was substantial and the Bank and borrower performance were both satisfactory. The findings and implications for subsequent operation(s) in series indicate that overall, the satisfactory progress made since the approval of PRSC-2 warranted the move to PRSC-3; that PRSC-2 could not be also aligned with the budget cycle as previously sought, and this should be a priority in the next operation; and that more attention should be paid in the subsequent operations, starting with PRSC-1, on capacity building in line ministries given the focus on improving service delivery.
