The development objective of the Energy Efficiency Project for Bosnia and Herzegovina is to strengthen capacity for implementation of energy efficiency measures and to increase awareness of its benefits in Bosnia and Herzegovina through retrofitting public buildings with energy efficiency measures throughout the country. Negative impacts include: damage to cultural heritage, construction wastes, noise, and dust. Mitigation measures include: (1) ensuring that the activities in the design documentation are in line with the environmental management plan; (2) trying to reuse or recycle all generated wastes as much as possible; (3) limiting works to daytime intervals that are in accordance with the local legislation; (4) suppressing dust with water or covering materials and working areas that can generate dust; and (5) ensuring that all fire protection measures have been implemented.
