Tajikistan : an overview (English)

Tajikistan is the poorest country in ECA while also having the most remittance-dependent economy in the world. While it recovers from the civil war that ended in 1997, it faces a number of other development challenges. Energy security and poverty are also areas of concern, as of 2009, the poverty rate was 47 percentage.
