The development objective of the Tamil Nadu Rural Transformation Project for India is to promote rural enterprises, access to finance, and employment opportunities in selected blocks of Tamil Nadu. Some of the negative impacts and mitigation measures include: (1) identify lending institutions and facilitate finance to scale up the activity and to start new activities; (2) identify market and facilitate convergence with other government departments for marketing and price support; (3) address the capacity building for the producers and provide technical support to increase the production; and (4) facilitate financial linkages, identifying, and reaching out to markets.
