International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) Board of Governors resolution ; no. 97 : terms and conditions on which the Argentine Republic shall be admitted to membership in the Bank (Inglês)

On August 8, 1956, the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) Board of Governors adopted resolution number ninety-seven, pertaining to the membership of the Argentine Republic with the Bank. It was resolved that before accepting membership in the Bank, the Argentine Republic shall accept membership in and become a member of the International Monetary Fund. Furthermore, by accepting membership in the Bank, the Argentine Republic shall subscribe to one thousand and five hundred shares of the capital stock of the Bank. Also, before becoming a member, the Argentine Republic shall make payment to the Bank for the amount and in the manner specified. When accepting membership, the Argentine Republic shall deposit with the government of the United States of America an instrument stating that it has accepted in accordance with its law the Articles and all the terms and conditions prescribed in this resolution, and that it has taken all steps necessary to enable it to carry out all its obligations under the Articles and this resolution, and shall sign the original copy of the Articles held in the Archives of the government of the United States of America. It is also deemed that a time limitation till February 15, 1957, on the period for acceptance of membership be imposed, with an extension of this time limit by the Executive Directors being possible under extraordinary circumstances. Upon compliance with the requirements specified herein, the Argentine Republic shall become a member of the Bank, subject to the terms and conditions set forth in this resolution.
