Africa - Third Phase of Regional Communications Infrastructure Program (RCIP3) Project : resettlement plan (Vol. 3) : Quadro da Política de Reassentamento (Português)

The development objectives for Third Phase of Regional Communications Infrastructure Program (RCIP3) Project are similar to RCIP. The RCIP Program, and all projects under RCIP have one to two of the following development objectives, depending of the individual Government's request: (i) contribute to lower the price of international broadband capacity and extend the reach of backbone networks across Eastern and Southern Africa; and (ii) contribute to improved Government efficiency and transparency through e-Government applications. Negative impacts include: installation of masts and towers; installation of fixed line cables and connectors; construction of landing stations; equipment housing (e.g. shelters, cabinets, auxiliary power units); and road infrastructure (mostly feeder roads). The mitigation measures include: 1) replace land and/or pay compensation; 2) pay compensation, if not in public right of way, pay for any asset occupying right of way prior to sub-project cut-off date; 3) replace land, and other impacted assets, and/or pay compensation; 4) Replace land, and other impacted assets, and/or pay compensation (Compensate for other assets); and 5) Replace land, and other impacted assets, and/or pay compensation.
