Mexico - GEF Sustainable Rural Development Project : indigenous peoples plan : Proyecto de Desarrollo Rural Sustentable para el Fomento de las Fuentes Alternas de Energia en los Agronegocios que promuevan la Eficiencia Energetica en el sector agropecuario (Espanhol)

The objective of the GEF Sustainable Rural Development Project of Mexico is to improve the income of farmers by increasing their presence in the global markets, linking them with the processes of adding value and production of bio-energy. To achieve these purposes this project becomes an effective instrument, which will be an operational hub for agro-business, which are conceptually defined as the activity and set of processes that encourage a more efficient integration of agricultural producers in the productive chains, and that allows them to create jobs, add greater value to their products and seize a larger portion of the price that consumers pay. The goal of these policies is to mitigate any negative social impact, and ensuring that beneficiaries participate adequately informed on the actions of development projects.
