360° Resilience : A Guide to Prepare the Caribbean for a New Generation of Shocks – Overview of Engineering Options for Increasing Infrastructure Resilience in the Caribbean (Inglês)

Infrastructure comprises a critical component of community health and economic growth. In recent natural disasters, including earthquakes, hurricanes, and floods, significant damage to infrastructure occurred, resulting in economic losses and delayed recovery. The Caribbean region is undergoing growth and the tourist industry is one of the main engines of economic growth for these countries. To address such vulnerabilities and to improve the resilience of Caribbean communities, this project was undertaken to assess the current state of selected infrastructure and to provide recommendations for improvements in the subject counties, with the objective of evaluating the costs and benefits associated with strengthening options.
