The development objective of the Cities and Climate Changes Project is to improve municipal management and sustainable financing to enhance climate resilience of targeted coastal cities. Negative impacts include: soil erosion, hazardous substances, solid waste management, air pollution, noise pollution, traffic control, and dust pollution. Mitigation measures include: 1) the site is to be kept clean, neat and tidy at all times; 2) the collection of refuse and waste generated by his staff on a daily basis; 3) adequate washing and toilet facilities are to be provided close to the works; 4) no grey water runoff or uncontrolled discharges from the site/working areas; 5) the contractor shall keep noise level within acceptable limits and construction activities shall, where possible, be confined to normal working hours; 6) appropriate traffic warning signs shall be erected and maintained; and 7) control measures shall include regular spraying of working/exposed areas with water at an application rate that will not result in soil erosion or runoff.
