Lao People's Democratic Republic - Third Poverty Reduction Fund Project : ethnic group planning framework (Inglês)

The development objective of the Third Poverty Reduction Fund Project for Lao People's Democratic Republic (PDR) is to improve access to basic services for the project’s targeted poor communities. Some of the negative impacts and mitigation measures include: (1) use the recently developed information, education, communication (IEC) materials and pictures wherever possible during community meetings; (2) conduct social mapping and maintain village profiles, including data on different ethnic groups living in the village, concentration of ethnic groups, and levels of poverty. Update data annually; (3) provide capacity building to village representatives, especially those who belong to vulnerable ethnic groups; (4) conduct workshops and training on relevant issues for vulnerable ethnic groups; (5) recruit qualified personnel from vulnerable ethnic groups including those who are newly graduated from National University of Lao PDR (NUOL) and other institutions, especially women; and (6) provide learning experience from other countries through research and study tours.
