Ratings of Making the Budget Work for Ghana Project were as follows: outcome was moderately satisfactory, Bank performance was moderately satisfactory, and monitoring and evaluation quality was modest. Some of the lessons learned include: (i) Aligning the project design with core government priorities; (ii) Sector specific peer learning exchanges are useful; (iii) Sensitizing the citizen and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) on budgetary processes; (iv) Government commitment and citizens’ support; and (v) Use of technology to foster citizen participation.
