Honduras - Current economic position and prospects (Inglês)

This report presents the economic position and prospects of Honduras as of 1964. Honduras is generally considered lo be the least developed of the Central American countries, both in terms of natural and human resources. The country's basic economic weaknesses have been aggravated by a turbulent political history that has been marked by frequent upheavals since it became independent in 1821. The trends in the economy tend to confirm the overall appraisal in the report. Political and economic conditions were largely fulfilled, and while the rate of growth has fallen short of the projected levels, exports have done somewhat better.
