Nepal - Zoonoses Control Project : draft environmental management plan (Inglês)

The development objective of the Zoonoses Control Project is to be self-contained and to achieve measurable results in a short timeframe. Negative impacts include: air pollution, noise pollution, sanitation, and waste management. Mitigation measures include: 1) the identified environmental impacts of the project could be avoided or minimized to acceptable level by integrating environmental and public health safety aspects in the design and implementation of activities; 2) training on these measures and monitoring the preparation as well as enforcement are included in the project in order to ensure effective implementation of the recommended measures; 3) appropriate laboratory waste management practices; 4) disinfect and burn the hazardous items in appropriate chamber or bury in a pit; 5) use only the safe/prescribed chemical in prescribed amount only by trained person; and 6) collection transport in closed containers that do not leak or release air emissions.
