Argentina - Forests and Communities Project (Vol. 2) : Indigenous peoples planning framework : Marco integral comunitario (Espanhol)

The Forests and Communities Project of Argentina’s objective is to contribute to the indigenous and Creole communities living in areas with native forests, improving their quality of life, and promoting the conservation, restoration, sustainable use and valuation of forest resources in some of the areas of greatest environmental and social areas. The project will identify potential social impacts arising from an erroneous allocation of resources which leads to a monopoly of profits by one or more actors. In this sense, this process will ensure a balanced distribution of benefits for the communities. Another potential negative impact would be the inadequate management of funds by the beneficiary communities. It is therefore important to work on these aspects so that once the projects are completed, the communities can have these tools for other projects or activities. Finally, another factor that could lead to a negative impact would be the limitation of access to resources in the function of some of the objectives of the project, including the necessity of displacement of the population. Measures to avoid negative social impacts will be the processes of training and participation carried out culturally appropriate.
