Thailand - Industrial Finance Corporation of Thailand Project (Inglês)

The Industrial Finance Corporation of Thailand Project for Thailand will assist in financing the reorganization, expansion, and revitalization of the IFCT. The IFCT or Industrial Finance Corporation of Thailand was established in 1959 as a limited corporation whose shareholders are financial institutions and individuals. Its purpose is to assist in the establishment, expansion, or modernization of private industrial enterprise and encourage the participation of private capital . The IFCT provides finance in the form of medium term or long term loans to further the growth of industrial investment and production, which has been developing rapidly in the past five years in Thailand. In order for this growth to continue, the IFCT must be reorganized to provide more risk capital, long term credit, and technical and managerial advice to support industrial growth. The project will accomplish this goal by: 1) enlarging the IFCT's financial resources; 2) providing a capital structure; 3) strengthening the staff and organization in order to enable it to appraise and follow up loan projects better; and 4) enabling the IFCT to pursue a more enterprising policy and to assist in the development of a capital market in Thailand. These improvements will reorganize the IFCT so it can provide better service to the industrial sector in Thailand.
