Romania - Justice Services Improvement Project : environmental assessment : Environmental management plan for rehabilitation and restoration of Prahova Tribunal (Inglês)

The development objective of the Justice Services Improvement Project for Romania is to assist the Government of Romania in implementing structural reforms in the justice sector through: (i) enhanced institutional capacity of the main judicial governing bodies (e.g., SCM, High Court of Cassation and Justice) and the MOJ; (ii) improvement in the efficiency of courts and transparency of court proceedings, and (iii) improvement in court infrastructure, and (iv) enhancement of the professionalism and integrity of judges and other court personnel. Some of the negative impacts are included : (i) contamination from waste materials; (ii) clogging of drainage works; (iii)introduction of hazardous wastes; (iv) dust during construction; (v) noise disturbance during construction or operation; (vi) risk of construction debris dumped into nearby water bodies; (vii) disposal of construction waste: except for paint of wood, all other building materials are non hazards; Some of the migitation measures are included ; (i) protection of soil surfaces during construction; (ii) control and daily cleaning of construction sites; (iii) provision of adequate waste disposal services; (iv) special attention to drainage, proper disposal of oil and other hazardous materials; (v) rehabilitation of adequate sanitary facilities, including appropriate disposal of wastewater and sewerage; (vi) dust control by water or other means to keep dust down if problem is evident; (vii) restrict construction to certain hours; (viii) The building site will be cleaned and all debris and waste materials will be disposed of in accordance with clauses specified in the bills of quantities. The sites for disposal of construction waste will be government- approved sites.
