Madagascar - Joint Health Sector Support Project (Inglês)

The development objective of the Joint Health Sector Support Project for Madagascar is to contribute to strengthening of the health system to increase utilization of health services, particularly among mothers and children. There are four components to the project. The first component of the project is strengthening delivery of health services. The objective of this component is to strengthen the delivery and availability of health services at the primary and first referral levels. The second component of the project is innovative demand-side interventions for basic health services. The objective of this component is to support pilot testing of different approaches designed to increase the utilization of basic health services by stimulating demand. The third component of the project is development and management of human resources. The objective of this component is to improve human resource management in the health sector and strengthen capacity of the Human Resource Department of the Ministry of Health (MoH). The fourth component of the project is institutional strengthening and monitoring and evaluation. This component will continue to support a number of system development and institutional strengthening activities at the central and decentralized levels.
