This report documents findings from the situation assessment of the supply market for rural sanitation in Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh within the context of current state-level sanitation programs. In the introductory material, the report presents an overview of the Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC) in India, then in Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Section 2 provides a situation assessment of the sanitation supply market in both those areas. Section 3 discusses the implications of the sanitation market situation in Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh for total sanitation and sanitation marketing (TSSM).
