Caribbean Region - Regional study (Vol. 9) : A study of the contribution of tourism to the Antiguan economy (Inglês)

This study concerns the problems and prospects of economic integration among small developing countries, focusing on the Caribbean Community as a basis for other such countries seeking economic viability through coordinated development and economic integration. Rather than reviewing problems of the individual countries, the study concentrates on the broader issues of regional integration. The most important of these issues for the Caribbean regional movement are: to foster general economic development, with a strong emphasis on employment creation; to reduce the region's external dependence; and to pursue a cultural and political regional identity. The separate volumes of this document are: I. The Main Report; II. Economic and Social Development of the Leeward and Windward Islands; III. Agriculture; IV. Industry; V. Transport; VI. Tourism, including a study of its contribution to the Antiguan economy; Vii. Population and Employment.; and VIII. Monetary Issues and Financial Resource Allocation. Substantial statistical information is included in each volume.
